Organisations Based in the Vassall CentreFifteen organisations are based in the Centre. Bristol Dial-a-Ride provides transport for people who cannot use public transport. A fleet of 16 vehicles operate from this site. The organisation is managed by disabled people. BrAMS The Bristol and Avon Multiple Sclerosis Centre is raising funds to provide comprehensive MS patient care and carry out disease orientated research. The Care Forum is an "umbrella" organisation supporting voluntary organisations in the fields of health and social care and running services such as Complaints Procedure Advocacy. Disabled members serve on the Executive Committee. Cerebral Palsy (CP Plus) is a Bristol charity supporting people with cerebral palsy, their families and carers in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. Vassall Centerprise is a newly formed committee which will generate income from social enterprise services and activities to support the work of the charity. The Deaf Studies Trust carries out research into deaf people's needs and issues. English Federation of Disability Sports works at a strategic level seeking to influence the policies and programmes of agencies directly and indirectly providing opportunities for disabled people through sport and physical activity. Living (formerly the Disabled Living Centre) Mencap Pathway Employment Service works in partnership with people with learning disabilities to find meaningful paid employment. It supports people in South Gloucestershire, Bristol & Bath & North East Somerset. MS People's Help (MSPH) is a charity led by disabled people. It provides voluntary workers to carry out practical tasks in the homes and gardens of people with Multiple Sclerosis. Half of the staff and volunteers are disabled people. PCServiceCare provides computer support for disabled people. Help provided includes: maintenance and support to keep PCs running smoothly; home visits or remote support for maintenance or training; assessment and advice about Adaptive Technology Princess Royal Trust for Carers offers help, information and support to carers of disabled and older people. It has also runs a programme to support young carers. Voice is one of the UK's leading voluntary organisations working and campaigning for children and young people in care. West of England Centre for Inclusive Living WECIL has over thirteen years experience of providing services to disabled and older people. A range of services are provided to over 3000 disabled people every year, including Direct Payment Support, Payroll, Advocacy and Advice. All WECIL’s services promote independence and empowerment of Disabled people, enabling them to have choice and control over their lives. |
