The Vassall Centre Building

Is the Vassall Centre the treasure at the end of a disabled persons rainbow? Wheels need space - two wheelchairs passing in corridor with ease

"Inclusive design" requires attention to both structure and the smallest detail to ensure that people with any form of impairment - visual, hearing, mobility, learning, dexterity etc - do not encounter barriers.

The Vassall Centre is a 43,000sq ft building, constructed in 1943. The site extends to three acres. Each of the twelve spurs is approximately 3,000 sq ft. There are 9,000sq ft of small offices, storage rooms, corridors and communal areas.
