VIP Awards Young Wall Painters

July 2009

A group of children who have graffitied walls on a charity building in Fishponds will not be reprimanded by the police, rather they will be given prizes and congratulated by the Deputy Lord Mayor, Brenda Hugill!

The young artists, who took part in an art project about ‘Freedom’, have produced seven colourful murals, each with a strong message about disability. The murals at the Vassall Centre will be officially unveiled to a crowd on Monday 13th July at 2.30pm.

Weatherman Switches on Sunshine Project for Bristol Charity

8th June 2009

BBC weather reporter, Richard Angwin, will try to turn on the sunshine for a city charity this year! A new environmental project by The Vassall Centre Trust has engaged his wholehearted support. At 2.15pm on 17th June he will launch the South West’s largest array of solar panels which have been installed on the Vassall Centre building in Fishponds.
